  • We must have the minor consent form (CLICK HERE for printable copy) completed & signed by the parent listed on the birth certficate/guardian paperwork.

    The consent form must be also be notarized PRIOR to your scheduled appointment. The library offers this service free of charge, and often your bank.

    You are also welcome to stop by the shop and pick up a paper copy to have completed and notarized prior to your appointment.

    • Valid & Current forms of ID are required at the time of the appointment. Physical ID’s must be presented (DL or passport) - pictures of ID & expired ID’s will not be accepted. The parent/guardian’s ID must match the parent listed on the birth certificate/legal guardianship paperwork. If the minor does not yet have an ID, a school ID with photo or yearbook works great.

    • Birth Certificate or Legal Guardianship paperwork must also be shown, as this is the only way for us to link the parent/guardian to the minor being pierced. Other family members are welcome to attend, but parent/guardian must be present for the entirety of the appointment and the one completing all required documents.

    • Lobes :

      Start at age 5 for Natalie, 7 for Brett

    • Ear Cartilage :

      Helix (traditional helix/vertical/forward) , Rook, Conch, Tragus, Flat - age 14 and up.

    • Other Ear Cartilage such as Daith or Industrial Piercing - age 16 and up

    • Body Piercings :

      Eyebrow, nostril, septum, or navel - age 14 and up

    • Oral Piercings :

      Tongue, Lip (labret, vertical labret, philtrum) - age 16 and up

      * If the piercing you are hoping to get is not listed here, it’s not available if you are under the age of 18.

    • Keep in mind the time of year and current activities that your child is involved with when scheduling a new piercing appointment. We recommend treating new piercings like open wounds, so that means avoiding submerging the piercing in bodies of water (Lakes/Swimming Pools/Hot Tubs) until the piercing is fully healed. If it is a navel piercing, talk with your piercer about waterproof bandages.

      If your child will have to remove all jewelry for a specific sport or event, you may want to postpone the piercing appointment until after. While we have clear retainers that are usually accepted, we do not encourage using them for new piercings during the healing process, nor keeping them in long term.

    • While our studio welcomes all ages in the building, please be mindful of the piercing space and help us to make this a safe, educational and fun experience for your child. If there are numerous siblings or friends accompanying them to their appointment, please be sure to have another responsible adult available to keep an eye on them and possibly wait with them in our lobby.

We know getting a piercing can be a big moment for kids/teens—and sometimes a nerve-wracking one! Our team is patient, encouraging, and happy to take the time to answer questions, explain every step, and help young clients feel comfortable at their own pace.

If a child decides they're not ready, that's okay. We believe consent comes first and every piercing should be done with a willing "yes," so we will never force, pressure, or restrain a child to complete a piercing.

We'd much rather wait until they're excited and confident than risk turning a special milestone into a stressful experience.
